Personal Statement: 

I have over 15 years experience teaching computers, one-on-one, to local clients ranging from beginners to advanced users. My sincere patience and simple step-by-step explanations have made me a favorite with senior citizens. The joy of seeing my students understand something for the first time is what makes my job as a tutor so rewarding!

History / Biography and/or Education / Qualification: 

My name is Tara (hence my company name 'CompuTara') and I am a private computer tutor and consultant.

When I was 15, I began teaching clients in my area how to use their computers, set up their computers and get the most out of them. A few years later, I began teaching at the local library where I gained a lot of experience in working with the public in groups. I continued to tutor in-home and began gaining new clients. I have a BA in Mathematical Sciences and earned a certificate in Graphic Design. I was the web designer for a NJ design firm for 2 years before I started my own business in computer training and repair. Most of what I have learned has been through working hands-on and trial and error. I have taught myself all of the computer programs I use and teach today.

Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy: 

Please give 24 hours notice of cancellation in order not to receive a $25 cancellation fee.

Other Policies: 

Software: It is assumed that you have your own access to the software you're wanting to learn. I DO NOT provide software other than freeware that can be downloaded off of the internet. If you do not own a particular program, there are many companies that offer free trials of their software which can usually be found on their website.
