Personal Statement:

Private music instruction taking each student to their next level. Bass, guitar, piano, acoustic bass and general musicianship for all instruments including singers and songwriters. Beginners welcome.

Hello! I am a veteran musician, band leader and private instructor. Throughout the years I’ve played a multitude of venues from clubs to major concert halls and have recorded for film, records and current television shows. I’ve worked with the likes of Latin great Willie Bobo and Motown Queen Martha and the Van Dellas, along with a few performances with Edgar Winter, Ray Charles and Taylor Dane. I’m currently playing a variety of local venues with various groups. I have a formal background in composition and conducting and am a music copyist for local singers as well as international acts. (More info at my website.)

Besides being a professional musician for 35 years, I have taught over 25,000 hours of one-on-one music lessons and career consultations.

In addition to teaching beginning and intermediate students, some top acts that my professional students have performed or recorded with include Chaka Khan, Isaac Hayes, MC Lyte, Seal, Beck, Taylor Dane, Edgar Winter, Doug E. Fresh, Nine Inch Nails and many more.

Having guided more than 800 students through their studies I know what the pitfalls are and know how to avoid them so your route to your musical goals is smooth and fun.

My purpose as a musical instructor is for my students to arrive at their personal musical goals in the most effective and enjoyable manner. For this reason I create tailored lessons for each individual.

Music lessons for making music. That's what I do.

History / Biography and/or Education / Qualification:

Thirty-five year veteran musician, private instruction with four, world class instructors and university training in Los Angeles in composition and conducting.

Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy:

48 hour cancellation policy. Can reschedule within the same week if I have a spot. If not, the student needs to pay for the late-cancelled lesson.

Other Policies:

Weekly attendence for at least the first three months. Enough daily/ weekly practice to actually accomplish something!

Interview and/or Application:

We start with an email, phone call or both. Then we set up a time for a consultation/lesson. A free consultation takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes. We talk things over, get an idea of how things work and decide to continue or not. If we decide to move ahead, it becomes a paid lesson and we start! An average of 9 out of 10 consultations start lessons.
